Janice Griffith
Office Manager

Janice has been involved with the construction industry since 1986. Her current position is as Office Manager for D.L. Smith Electric. Janice is responsible for several office management tasks such as:
• Manages Accounts Payables and Receivables
• Manages material and labor job cost information
• Coordinates payroll functions within company
• Manages benefit payments, taxes, and associated reporting.
• Maintain employee records
• Manages general ledger of accounts
Robert Mai
Project Manager

Bob has been in the electrical construction industry since 1980. His current position is Project Manager/Estimator for D.L. Smith Electric. He is responsible for project management tasks such as:
• Shall be primary contact for company on project.
• Reviews and manages overall project performance.
• Provides timely responses to GC and owner with issues/changes.
• Provides scheduling for entire project for others to work within.
• Determines equipment buyouts and major purchases on project.
Pat Mersmann
Purchasing Agent

Pat has been in the electrical construction industry since 1985. His current position is as Purchasing Agent for D.L. Smith Electric. He is responsible for material and tool management tasks such as:
• Project material purchasing and cost controls.
• Coordinating equipment purchasing with suppliers and project scheduling
• Managing Tool tracking system
• Provide updated material pricing for current and future projects.
• Manages inventory stock levels and material staging for current project.
• Creates and manages special purchasing agreements with manufacturers
John Robben
Commercial Sales/Estimator
John has been in the electrical industry since 1990. His current position is a Project Estimator. He is responsible for project estimating tasks such as:
• Review and analyze potential projects for opportunities.
• Maintain updated lists of potential projects to pursue.
• Provide accurate cost estimates for proposal.
• Provide coordinated project start-up transitions to field.
• Maintain accurate costs for commodities.
• Developing consistent methods of estimating within company.
Shawn P. Smith, P.E.
President/Electrical Engineer

Shawn has been in the electrical construction industry since 1988. He is the president and electrical engineer of DL Smith Electric. He is responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, including many project tasks such as:
• Develop contacts and opportunities throughout market.
• Provide engineering support for design/build projects.
• Provide negotiated project budgeting and design assistance.
• Provide code review for project specific tasks within company.
• Provide project management for key clients and special projects.
Bret Toelkes
Company Superintendent

Bret has been in electrical construction industry since 1984. His current position is Company Superintendent for D.L. Smith Electric. He is responsible for construction project coordination tasks such as:
• Provide manpower management and labor cost controls.
• Provide resource leveling between various projects.
• Coordinate with GC’s and electrical work to maintain scheduling.
• Work with project managers to analyze overall job performance.
• Provide assistance on critical tasks within each project.
• Be liaison between field crews and office on company policies and procedures.

Doug Tucker
Service Manager

Doug has been in the electrical construction industry since 1970. His current position is Service Manager for D.L. Smith Electric. He is responsible for many critical steps within our service department such as:
• 24 hr. Service/Emergency work coordinator
• Prepares estimates for service and small projects customers
• Provides planning and scheduling for service orders
• Coordinates materials and tools with planned work.
• Maintains service vehicle fleet
• Manages service technicians and workforce training.
• Provides assistance to clients on budgeting for future projects.
• Provides expertise on best methods for installation and/or repair.
